Items and Upgrade Components in World of Warcraft
Upgrades to items can be an excellent way to increase the value of your weapon and armor. Upgrades to common and magical gear are rarely worth it, since rare or exclusive items will soon surpass them.
Upgrades can be added to an item up to six times. Each upgrade will add to the gauge of the item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are the item upgrade materials that can be used to enhance an item's attributes. Glyphs are commonly used to upgrade a weapon, or armor but they can also be used to upgrade a hat, ring, necklace, or other accessory. Glyphs are available in a variety of levels and are offered by vendors in Deneb. They're expensive, but worth it because they can boost an item's stats.

There are many types of glyphs and a font could contain multiple variants of each. Adobe Caslon Pro's default glyphs include standard characters, ornaments, fractions, and swashes. The Glyphs panel lets you look at these variations and then insert them into your document.
Glyph measurements are the parameters which determine the way a text layout is constructed. These metrics are determined by several factors, including the advance width and side bearings. These measurements are essential to ensure that the glyphs will appear correctly on the screen and will be displayed correctly in text.

You can purchase Growthstones from various NPCs in major cities, or from the player auction house. You can also receive them as a reward from the Ancient Arena Season. These items are used to level up weapons and armor, and also to increase the level of passive skills.
Once you have enough Growthstones you can go to any Equipment Enchanting NPC and increase the level of upgrade for your equipment. Growthstones are required for a variety of weapons armor, weapons and accessories. These NPCs also sell Active Skill Growth Books, Passive Skill Growth Books, and the Precious Skill Growth Book Omnipotence to improve your weapon.
While you can improve your equipment and skills at these NPCs however, you'll need to spend lots of money to do so. Each upgrade level is priced at certain amounts of Valorstones, or crests. Weapons are generally the most expensive. In addition, you'll be required to undertake certain quests to obtain the required items. If you want to upgrade armor, for instance you'll require one of three Power Dices that are dropped by monsters above level 21 as well as certain quantities of Erons and Minerals.

Suffix
Suffixes are upgrade components that can be used to improve the quality of armor and weapons. They can be found in items that contain them, or purchased from the merchant using a Salvage Kit. Upgrades are color-coded to indicate the types of items they can be applied to. The merchant can sell identified upgrades in exchange for gold. Weapons can be upgraded by up to 2 prefixes and 1 suffix. Upgrades are only available to items with a blue or higher rarity, including the ones dropped from chests at the end of Factions and Nightfall campaigns. Items with upgrade components can't be used to craft new items.
A suffix is a term or group of letters that gives meaning to a larger word like -tion for the verb create or -phoria in the noun-feeling. Suffixes also have the ability to alter the pronunciation of words. For instance, English's suffix -er and German's suffix -ismus. They can also alter the spelling of the word. For instance, the adjective defenseless becomes unprotected.
There are a myriad of suffixes ranging from nouns, verbs, adjectives and adjectival terms. Suffixes can change the meaning or pronunciation of words. Certain have specific rules. Suffixes are also used to alter the grammatical rules such as adding the suffix -ness to words to make them an adjective or -ic for a noun to make it possessive.
In addition being used to add the meaning of words, suffixes may also be used to create new names of individuals and places. For example, a man who is single may have the surname "Paulauskaite" while married women would be called "Paulauskiene".
The most common suffixes are those which indicate the status of a person like -ion, -ist, -us, -ism and -es. They can also be used as a way to define a person's personality characteristics, such as -iveness or -phoria.
Items affixes can be used to give armor and weapons additional parameters. They are often a combination of one or more suffixes, or prefixes. For example -Fiery boosts the power of your atk by introducing fire elemental damage. Affixes for items can be applied to all items up to level 80 with the exception of hand-crafted ascended armour as well as crafted trinkets.
